Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often praise the flavour of the food, and many arrive on the Tuesday banquet evening, where diners choose a starter, main, side and rice or naan. Named dishes include vegetable samosas, chicken chaat, rogan, chasni tikka, saag aloo and chicken Alphonso, which one visitor had never tried before. Several describe generous portions, with a group of three unable to finish on banquet night. One notes the food had a slight kick but was not overly spicy, and that more heat can be asked for. Staff are repeatedly called friendly, welcoming and attentive, including with a large work group. The one critical review calls the food and service decent but says the chicken biryani did not taste Indian in style, that staff said they were from Bangladesh, and that marketing the restaurant as Indian felt misleading. Another diner singles out a starter that came with three dips.

“Fantastic evening at Voujon in Banbury. I visited as part of a large group from Kärcher for an evening meal, and the whole experience was excellent. Despite having a sizeable group to look after, the service was friendly, organised and attentive throughout. The food was absolutely superb — beautifully cooked, full of flavour and served in generous portions. Everyone was made to feel welcome, and there was a great atmosphere in the restaurant. Catering for a large group while maintaining good service and consistently excellent food isn’t always easy, but Voujon did a brilliant job. A thoroughly enjoyable evening and one of those restaurants I’d happily return to if I’m ever back in Banbury. Highly recommended!”

“Out with girlfriends tonight in Banbury - they both live in/near Banbury, I live an hour away in Worcestershire - but have to say I'm more than happy to travel for an hour to eat at Voujon 🤗 The food is always amazing.. The staff are really welcoming and friendly.. And the atmosphere is always good.. The 3 of us always struggle to finish all our food as the portions are a really good size, but we went on a Tuesday evening this time which is their 'banquet' evening - amazing value of course but the 3 of us couldn't eat everything as there's loads! 🤦 Highly recommend Voujon to anyone.. In my opinion - it's absolutely my favourite place to eat Indian food 🤗”

“The food and service were decent, However, I went into the restaurant thinking it's an Indian Restaurant, but when I ordered the food especially the Chicken Biryani the taste and flavours were not Indian style. Furthermore, I enquired with the staff, they told they are from Bangladesh. This restaurant is not for customers specifically looking for authentic Indian cuisines. Overall, not a bad experience, but clarity in branding would be appreciated. This restaurant is marketed as Indian, but the cuisine is predominantly Bangladeshi in style. I feel being transparent about the cuisine would help set the right expectations for diners. There is nothing wrong with Bangladeshi food, but misrepresenting it as Indian is disappointing and misleading. Transparency matters. Using the Indian name to promote what is clearly Bangladeshi cuisine is unfair and misleading !!!”
