About The Fish Inn
The Fish Inn is a fish and chips shop at 83 Market St in Ashby De La Zouch, run by a couple who serve customers at the counter. Battered fish and chips anchor the menu, and curry sauce is available with the chips. Fritters are sold alongside the fish. The chip cob, which puts chips in a bread roll, is served next to the fish and chips for anyone who wants their chips in a roll. Sausages, burgers and kebab meat are also on the menu. Lunch and dinner deals are offered.

Customer Review Summary
Fish and chips draw most of the praise, with reviewers describing freshly cooked, crispy battered fish that is flaky rather than dry, alongside crispy chips and curry sauce. One reviewer had only a chip cob and found it very nice, and another mentions good lunch and dinner deals. Friendly service comes up repeatedly, with several crediting the couple now running the shop, and one notes there was no long queue even on a busy Friday night. The complaints are sharper. One reviewer says the batter could have been cooked a little longer. Another found the chips reheated and the burger and kebab meat so poor that even the dog refused them. A takeaway customer got home to fish and fritters stuck to the paper and only half a meal, and one says the opening times listed on Google are wrong. Still, one regular recalls staff slipping extra sausages into the order for their two dogs.

“After trying most of the chippies in and around the area - tried the Fish Inn after reading the google reviews Absolutely the best fish and chips we have had for ages - freshly cooked and friendly service In the words of Arnie - I’ll be back! Written before we had even finished them..”

“Pretty good fish, chips and curry sauce. The chips were nice and crispy. The fish was cooked well and not dry but nice and flakey. The batter could have been cooked a little longer. They seems to have some good deals on for lunches/dinners.”
