  “Lovely place to visit. Great staff, coffee and cakes 🍰👌needed to find somewhere yesterday to have a business meeting. Staff were kind enough to let us use a table and WiFi. Iced Latte and Rocky road was perfect on a hot day.”

  “We had poor service and the food was mediocre after waiting half an hour. The excuse was that there was a big party eating in the upstairs area.The couple who sat on the next table got served before us even though they arrived later so it must have been chaos in the kitchen. None of this would have mattered if we were told what was going on but most of the staff seemed too inexperienced to say anything and the older ones just gave us excuses as if it was our fault for turning up.The soup was cold and needed reheating and my jacket potato was dry and not enough chilli to go with it. I'm sure it was just a blip as others have praised it but some communication with customers would have been. When asked if everything was ok we got 10% off, so some effort was made to correct the mistake.”

  “Really disappointed by my experience in Quarter Cake Café today. Despite being a customer on many occasions and feeling quite satisfied thereafter, there seems to have been a change in front-of-house staff who can only be described as miserable. Ran by 4 teenage girls, the service fell far below the standard I had experienced before. Whilst waiting on my food to arrive, I heard the kitchen bell ring twice and no one paying any notice to it, one girl decided it was clearly more important to adjust her hair than to attend the kitchen. A few moments went by the the bell rang once again, but this time all of the waitresses went at together! Similarly, whilst waiting for my food I couldn't help but notice when the waitresses were dealing with other customers, their demeanor and attitude didn't waiver from their bored, uninterested and borderline rude performance that was demonstrated before. That being said, I can't coat them all with the same brush, compliments to our server Lexie. She seemed to present herself in a far more positive and approachable manner than the rest. The food, despite the wait for what was only 2 sandwiches was deserving of praise and the only reason why this review isnt sat with 1 star. I look forward to seeing positive change upon my next visit.”

  “Great little cafe in the center of Annan. We had baked potatoes which came with a choice of fillings, a side salad and coleslaw. The breakfast menu looked good and there was a great variety of sandwiches and paninis and the homemade cakes and treats looked really yummy.”

  “First visit to this lovely cafe. Staff were very attentive and friendly. I had the Scottish breakfast and husband had pie and chips, both arrived hot and were very tasty. Would definitely visit again 🙂”

  “Had two of the small breakfasts for me and my partner. Delicious food, generous portions and drink for under £10 per person. Fresh and tasty. Loved the haggis and tatties. Bathrooms were clean too. The staff were lovely. Thank you for fitting us in with no booking.”

  “Highly recommend! The best spot in Annan for a Full Scottish breakfast. Great value for money, really clean friendly and relaxed environment inside too. The service was fantastic too. The lady that served me was very helpful and patience in explaining the menu for me. This is my new go to spot whenever I'm in the Dumfries & Galloway area.”

  “Yet another fantastic meal, this time on the Friday in March BOGOFF burger deal. Food is faultless, plentiful, service is always good and atmosphere was lovely with the mood lighting. Steak burger with choice of 3 toppings ( photo shows toppings of cheese, haggis and fried egg and the other is cheese, bacon and fried onions) good selection of toppings and a sauce of your own choice too. Even without the BOGOFF deal it is good value for money Finished off with a lovely pint colada cheesecake”

  “A very nice coffee stop off. The seating is very well presented and the outdoor seating was nice. Dogs would need to stay on a lead as there is a road very close, if you have a wandering child... Best keep them on a lead too ;)”
