About Di Sopra
Di Sopra is a family-run Italian restaurant at 9 Bondgate Within in Alnwick. The kitchen keeps separate gluten free and dairy free menus, including a coeliac menu, which gives guests with those dietary needs their own list to order from. A set menu with a two-course option is also offered, and wine is served alongside meals. Larger parties can book as a group, and walk-ins are sometimes fitted in without a reservation.

Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often single out the value, praising generous portions and the two course set menu, with food described as fresh, delicious and authentic Italian. Close behind is the separate gluten free menu. One reviewer with a son who has coeliac disease and another who needed both gluten and dairy free options say the restaurant was careful and accommodating, and both recommend it to fellow coeliacs. Staff are repeatedly called friendly and attentive, with one family noting how well they looked after a toddler and another party describing a large group of 44 handled smoothly and with food that came out quickly. Several holidaymakers describe returning or choosing it while travelling, and one family ate at the same table they remembered from four years earlier. The one practical note comes from a reviewer who found the restaurant fairly empty at 5pm but packed just over an hour later, and who recommends booking. Another was fitted in without a booking.

“We love this place. First visited on a whim 4 yrs ago when we were on holiday in the area. The food, service and atmosphere stuck with us as a family ever since. We're currently holidaying again in the area and didn't even bother to look around for places to eat when in Alnwick. We're pleased to say Di Sopra was just how we'd remembered (completely by chance, we even ate at the same table!). The food, service and atmosphere were all perfect. Great value too - 5 people having 2 courses, 1 bottle of wine and soft drinks for £150. Thank you. We can't wait to come again when next in this area.”

“We had a really excellent lunch at Di Sopra. This was particularly special for me as I needed food which was both gluten and dairy free. Di Sopra had special menus for each of those needs and were really careful to provide for me. It was excellent value and the staff were really friendly. Particularly recommended for fellow coeliacs.”

“We visited this restaurant whilst we were holidaying. It was a good choice. The food was very good, as was the wine. The service was of a high order, and the waitresses who looked after us couldn't be more attentive and friendly. The bill was very easy to pay. I would reccomend.”

“I visited Di Sopra with my friend and my toddler for dinner and we had such a lovely experience from start to finish. The staff were so warm, welcoming and attentive, and they were absolutely fantastic with my daughter, which made the whole meal so relaxed and enjoyable. The food was incredible - everything we ordered was fresh, full of flavour and beautifully cooked and such good value. The portions were generous, and the prices were unbelievably good for the quality of the food. It offers amazing value for money and the food was honestly exceptional! The atmosphere and the service was great, and we already can't wait for our next visit.”
