Customer Review Summary
Reviewers most often praise the food, singling out huge onion bhajis and a lamb tikka masala Mumbai style, with generous portions that left one table boxing up leftovers. Popadoms and pickles also get a mention, and a few call it good value. The main complaint is takeaway: one reviewer waited over one hour, and another found the phone manner abrupt when ordering for collection.

“Husband just tried to place an order for collection, person he spoke to was rude and abrupt basically asking him to hurry up with ordering as he was busy (hband spent less than 30 seconds wanting to check something on the menu). Needless to say we did not proceed with our order. The food may have a good reputation, but they definitely need to work on their telephone manner.”

“Terrible service, waited over one hour for a take away. Meal was awful, I’m not sure if they understand how an Indian meal should look or taste like. Really disappointed and I’ll never return.”

“Prior to going to Alnwick for an overnight stay I checked out Indian restaurants and this place had very good reviews so I booked a table a couple of weeks in advance for a Monday evening. We passed by at 7pm and the place was busy but we were booked for 8.30pm and had a couple of drinks at Harry’s bar directly opposite which I would highly recommend. On arrival at the restaurant it had quietened down with around four tables in use. We ordered popadoms and pickles each which were great and then onion bhajis which were the best we have ever had and were like a meal in themselves because they were huge. We then had lamb tikka masala Mumbai style with pilau rice and nan bread which was really nice but we struggled with and had to get most of it boxed up to take away because of the size of the starter. Staff were great and very understanding. Along with a bottle of lovely Chilean white wine the meal came to around £60 which was decent value. I would highly recommend a visit if you are in the area.”

“Absolutely incredible food! Everything was full of flavour, really fresh, and the portions were generous too. We visited on a Monday evening and didn’t need to book, which was perfect for four very hungry teachers who had just finished a DofE Gold Assessment! The food was exactly what we needed after a long few days, delicious, filling and really good value. We all thoroughly enjoyed it and would definitely return. Highly recommend!”
